My Skills -
Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT200), specialised training in Rocket Yoga (50HR) and immersive training in Vinyasa. These qualifications allow me to bring a diverse range of yoga styles to our practice, from traditional Ashtanga to more playful & energetic rocket sequences.
My Interests -
A thirst of knowledge in the origins of philosophy around traditional yoga practices (off the mat). I love to teach beach yoga, an all year round sea swimmer, I enjoy cooking, eating good food & gardening.
My backstory -
I discovered yoga (asana) through an injury when I was a keen runner. As I began to practice I was drawn into finding out more about the different styles, theories & philosophies. I attended my first class in 2010 & from there have maintained a regular practice trying out many styles including Vinyasa, Iyenger, Hot Yoga, Rocket yoga, Primary & Intermediate Ashtanga Vinyasa, Hatha & Yin. The structure of Ashtanga Vinyasa & Rocket yoga is my go-to for self-practice but enjoy to attend Vinyasa as a participant.
Yoga for me is about self discovery of both body & mind, we can learn a lot about ourselves on the mat if we approach the practice in this way. For me the biggest part of my journey was accepting myself as I am each time I step on the mat & I encourage all my students to do the same. The more we practice this the more we can start to take these lessons off the mat & start to integrate the practice into our daily lives. For me yoga is a dynamic meditation & I like to share the skills & techniques i’ve learned over the years to all who practice with me.
What gets me up in the morning -
My Cockerpoo Buddy or one of my 2 children (no alarm required)..
